Sections of Mountain Highways to be Closed for Coming Storm

An Alaskan cold front is coming, and Los Angeles County’s Department of Public Works is preparing to close sections of  local mountain highways beginning Wednesday at 10 p.m.

Angeles Forest Highway will be closed from Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road to Aliso Canyon Road.

Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road will be closed from Angeles Forest Highway to Angeles Crest Highway.

The roads will be closed for an undetermined duration.

The National Weather Service reported Tuesday that the storm system should bring cold rain across the Santa Clarita Valley Wednesday night into Thursday, with three to six inches of snow in upper elevations such as over the Grapevine. Snow levels should drop to 3,500 feet and possibly 3,000 feet.
