Saugus Woman Arrested After Neighbors Report Thefts of UPS, FedEx Packages

LASD_BadgeSeveral citizens have been reporting that UPS and Fed-Ex packages have been stolen off their front porch in the Saugus area since early December. On one occasion, a witness reported seeing a female taking some packages from their neighbor’s porch.

Santa Clarita Valley burglary detectives investigated the case and were able to identify the female as 58-year-old Mariola Gorak-Doughlin, who resides in Saugus area.

A search warrant was served in the 21800 block of Maged Court, Saugus. Several pieces of stolen property were recovered from this location from five separate victims.

Mariola Gorak-Doughlin was arrested by detectives as she was leaving her residence prior to the service of the search warrant. She was booked at Santa Clarita Valley Station with a bail of $20,000.

As a reminder, and proven by this case, packages that sit on a porch or door step are more likely to be stolen. With most of the holiday gifts being delivered this week try to ensure that someone is home during the day the package is delivered. If this is not possible, send the package to a relative or neighbor that you know will be home during delivery.
