Looking for some holiday fun this weekend? The monthly Santa Clarita Street Fair held in the College of the Canyons stadium parking lot is having a special Christmas edition fair on Saturday, Dec 15 and Sunday, Dec 16.
Usually taking place on the fourth weekend of every month, this month’s special street fair falls on the third weekend and like many of the ones before it, people can expect to view and buy various products and artwork, eat fantastic food and enjoy all the other great activities the Santa Clarita Street Fair has to offer.
The Santa Clarita Street Fair has been an exciting event for residents and non-residents of the Santa Clarita Valley for two years now. Not only is admission and parking free, but also 10 percent of proceeds collected at the street fair go to the SCV Emergency Winter Shelter, an organization created to help local homeless people by providing things such as hot meals, showers and medical and job resources.
Another great feature of the Santa Clarita Street Fair is that new vendors who meet the proper requirements are always welcome. The Santa Clarita Street fair has always been a good place for local and non-local artists, entrepreneurs and small-business owners to set up a booth and sell their products. Vendors in the past included businesses specializing in anything from apparel, art and jewelry, to home décor and even pet supplies.
The cost for a vendor to rent space depends on the desired size. A 100-square foot space is $99 for both days and $79 for a single day. Vendors wishing to rent a space can fill out a vendor application on the Santa Clarita Street Fair website at www.santaclaritastreetfair.com.
The gourmet food trucks at the Santa Clarita Street Fair is also a reason why it continues to attract new people each month. This weekend’s Christmas Edition is expected to feature six of them: The Grilled Cheese Truck, Pie ‘N Burger, King’s Road Coffee, Yummm Mobile, O Street Truck and Sweet E’s.
