[LASD] – Zone 5-Valencia area reported thirty-two Part 1 crimes during the week indicated.

The criminal incidents included residential, commercial and vehicle burglaries, and numerous petty theft/shoplifting from local businesses.

A residential burglary occurred on Thursday at the 23700 block of Via Irana between 6 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. The victim found two individuals in his back yard trying to breaking into his residence. The suspects fled the location prior to the Deputies arriving. No entry was made into the residence and no items were stolen. Another residential burglary occurred at the 27200 block of Trenton Place on Saturday at 6:00 pm. The victim came home to find her front door wide open. Entry/exit was made through a bedroom window. No items were stolen. Santa Clarita Detectives are currently working both cases. As always please remember to lock all windows/doors to your residence and secure valuables in a safe or lock box. Keep serial numbers to valuables handy in case of a theft so that Deputies have the information for the criminal report.

There were a few commercial burglaries that occurred in various areas of Valencia. The items stolen were a Panasonic Flat screen television from a hotel, and merchandise from a local drug store. Video surveillance was in place for a few of the incidents.

Three vehicle burglaries occurred at the following locations: 26400 block of Rockwell Canyon Road, 24500 block of Town Center Drive and on the street of Parkview Road. The thefts occurred in the late afternoon during the week. Entries made into the vehicles were via smashed windows and unlocked doors. Items stolen were an IPOD, sunglasses, Canon camera and air conditioning equipment. Most of the items were visible from outside the vehicles. I urge everyone to please secure all personal belongings (purses, book bags, lap tops, etc.) and lock all bed mounted tool boxes. Do not leave items unattended or visible in your vehicles. Remember to secure your vehicles by rolling up all windows and locking all doors. Be cautious of your surroundings and if possible, park in well-lit and highly visible areas.

Please help us by reporting all suspicious activity and call the Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.
