A Stevenson Ranch woman was booked on a DUI charge Sunday after a collision left a man with major injuries.
Suzette L. Crockett, 46, of Stevenson Ranch, was held Sunday night at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in lieu of $100,000 bail, according to Sheriff’s Station records.
At approximately 8:55 p.m., she was driving a 2007 Matrix north on The Old Road, near Sagecrest Circle, approaching a green light in the left-turn area, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
Johnny Sanchez, 58, of Lake View Terrace, was driving southbound in a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle on The Old Road, where Crockett allegedly failed to yield to Sanchez, according to the collision report.
“She made a left-hand turn directly in front of the motorcycle, and the motorcycle broadsided her,” said Officer Glauser, who investigated the crash.
CHP officers and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene.
Sanchez was still alive Monday morning, although he was being treated for major injuries, Glauser said.
Crockett sustained minor injuries in the crash.
Sanchez was treated on scene and transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital for major injuries.
Crockett was issued a field sobriety test and subsequently arrested for driving under the influence, transported and booked as charged at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
This investigation is ongoing, Glauser said.
